About Our Speaker:

Michele Landry has over 25 years of experience in strategic communications, corporate positioning, marketing, and communications programs for technology companies in industries including enterprise software, wireless, networking, communications, and semiconductors. She has implemented successful executive and employee communications programs, and marketing campaigns that integrate traditional, owned, and digital media. Prior to Tanis, she was vice president of corporate communications of Spansion Inc., a $1 billion semiconductor company. She first joined the company after it spun out of AMD and prior to its IPO. She later rejoined the company, after spending two years living in Australia, to help transform the company following its emergence from bankruptcy. She helped reposition the company as an embedded systems leader, following the company’s acquisition of the microcontroller and analog divisions of Fujitsu and led the marketing integration activities for the company’s merger with Cypress Semiconductor. Before Spansion, she held senior communications roles at NEC Technologies, Openwave Systems, Weber Shandwick, and Golin Harris Communications. During her tenure at Weber, she managed its Denver office and led several startup and enterprise software clients in Denver and the Bay Area. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University and a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

About our Moderator:

Kristie King, SCMP is executive vice president of the San Francisco chapter of IABC and obtained the Strategic Communication Management Professional certification in 2020. Her experience includes internal, change management, and crisis communications – all areas she found helpful preparing for the SCMP® exam. Kristie leads agent communications as part of the External Communications & Brand team at CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer.

Completion of this workshop provides 1.5 hours of continuing education credits that may be applied to exam requirements.

A key component of the GCCC certification process (included in Section B) is training experience. Within two-years of an examination date, CMP requires 40 hours of training and SCMP requires 20 hours to be demonstrated. There are several activities (with and without fees) that may be applied toward the required hours. Examples include participation in IABC chapter meetings, conferences, workshops, and completion of Learning Center modules, and classes offered by academic institutions and commercial entities. For each training, be sure to document the following: title of the training program, association or organization providing training, date of completion, hours completed, and signed documentation or certificate (if unavailable, record contact name, title, email, phone information for training program representative).
